We are excited to announce that Anthony Harris of Fort Worth will be joining the Vaqueros as the General Manager for the 2020 NPSL season. Anthony originally is from Dallas, but don’t hold that against him, he is #WeAreFortWorth to the bone and love’s cowtown for what it is and what it’s going to be!
Anthony has over 17 years of domestic and international business experience in the food service equipment industry holding a number of roles from sales manager to Director of Sales and Marketing. He has managed global customers ranging from McDonalds to 7-Eleven and gained invaluable sales experience along the way. More recently he left the corporate world and currently runs a digital marketing agency helping Fort Worth businesses grow their online presence in an ever changing digital world. He also owns an advertising franchise that publishes a high quality neighborhood publication also in Fort Worth.
His love for this city and community involvement extends to founding the Fort Worth chapter of 100 Men Who Give a Damn. A local organization that brings together 100+ men from our local community for 90 minutes or less 4 times a year to donate to a strictly 100% local charity. Since founding the chapter, the group has donated over $144K to charities doing work right here in Fort Worth. In August of 2018 at their 10th meeting, 100 Men Who Give a Damn donated $10,100 to the Fort Worth Vaqueros Youth Academy.
And not to be left out, he holds a deep passion for the beautiful game and has ever since he started playing the sport at the age of 5. Futbol is the only sport that he says truly runs in his veins. He played club soccer in Dallas during high school, played a short time in college and has continued to play as an adult. Aside from a recent knee injury you will find him at pickup games at Vaqueros field at Sycamore Park or Rolling Hills on friday nights. His biggest highlight is having attended 3 world cups tournaments and hopes to one day attend another, this time with his wife and 2 little girls.
His business experience and community involvement with the city makes him an ideal fit to help the Vaqueros reach their full potential and that next monumental level. He plans to work with ownership and help grow this club to unprecedented levels.
“I am truly humbled and honored for the opportunity to join The Fort Worth Vaqueros. The beautiful game has always been a true passion of mine and now I get to be involved with this great organization in a great city and help take it to the next level. I look forward to our upcoming 2020 season and am really excited about our chances in the US Open Cup”
“We’re excited to welcome Anthony to the Vaqueros family as our new General Manager. Anthony brings a shared love of Fort Worth, passion for the beautiful game and impressive business management experience to the Fort Worth Vaqueros. Exciting times for the Vaqueros and Soccer in Fort Worth. Once again, Welcome Anthony!” Hitch, Fort Worth Vaqueros Owner
